ATI says: "Crossfire is all important in the Communist world of unified shaders"
Posted by Regeneration on August 5th, 2007, 05:53 PM

AMD wasn't holding back in their 3 consecutive presentations at Assembly's ArTech seminars today. Their second talk was supposed to be about the next round of GPUs, but ended up being a promotion for their multi-GPU technology Crossfire. Despite its humble origins as their late answer to competitor NVIDIA's trump card SLI, ATI's Richard Huddy today touted Crossfire as a "critical feature" that every game developer must support.

What are ATI trying to say? Maybe their next gen is not powerful enough like R600?

Well - you tell me the positive aspects of R600, or maybe you'd rather stick you head in the sand?

Maybe if you search around you will find tons of info about it. And we don't really have any true DX10 benchmark out there that can show what it can do. The ones out there are Nvidia biased and optimised for it. And a few drivers later R600 is proving better even in CoJ demo/bench. Now the price/performance ratio HD2900XT wins (Got mine for 350 only), and everyday its getting better with newer drivers. I myself am just waiting for some true DX10 bench with newer drivers.

I think you should get your head out of you know what and look around what is going on cause all I seen you do on these forums in the passed few months is promote nvidia 8800 GTS 320MB and bash AMD/ATI like any other Nvidiot forum troll on every hardware forum site.

R600 has 320 pixel shaders vertex shaders compared to the G80 128 only furthermore R600 has 512-bit memory interface compared to the G80 384-bit (ATI has clearly alot more memory bandwidth 1Gig on board aswell, 128 GB/s of memory bandwidth) and with the right drivers maybe a month from now or when the first true DX10 games come out R600 could proof it and also be even cheaper by that time while nvidia will still costs a couple 100 bucks more.

Yeah right, the old its the drivers defence - c'mon you must be able to do better than that? I'd forget about DX10 on the current gen cards - personally I wouldn't buy a 8800 or 2900 for DX10 performance, rather for their performance in current games.

Also, I don't always believe the specs - afterall the G80 whups the arse off R600 in evey game at decent res. - don't try and tell me serious people are still in this day and age gaming at 1280x1024? Individuals like these are not the market for highend GPU'. And the 1g 2900 is a joke - nuff said

I suggest you look at the FPS at high res. of current games, rather than dream of what might be - ATI and the magic drivers

How I enjoy a debate without flaming good points on both sides grabbing some popcorn and watching from the background on this one

hmmm
first i am not nv fan(so u dont get confused)
but how i see you are missing a point
your gpu can have a 10000 pixel/vertex shaders but if gpu it self cant stand high core bandwidth it is useless to have that much shaders or that much memory bandwidth
i hope ati can fix their 2900XT performance with drivers
one more thing:
most of games are sponsored by Nvidia and they are seted up to work best only with nvidia cards
so ati cant get a chance with that

Easy aint it to act like a big shot online isnt it. I don't have to argue about fact I know and will happen, been here on this planet long enough to know that and in the graphics market its the same thing.

The main reason I stepped to ATI 5 years ago was because Nvidia wasnt being true to its customers and has been cheating too much to win market share with old crap technologies and games that were only optimized for them.

c4r105 is nothing more then any other immature forum troll nvidiot which should be banned from this forum. None of his posts have been informative or usefull.

Goodday.
