Tamara Broome, 31, was arrested on June 26 after she flew from Australia to the U.S. to allegedly kidnap the 17-year-old boy and take him back to Adelaide. The university student was apprehended as she stepped off a train at Rocky Mount station, North Carolina. Broome is accused of having had an online relationship with the boy from Greenville, North Carolina for more than a year.
The pair emailed, played the online game World of Warcraft and even discussed marriage. Her laptop computer has been seized as part of the investigation. Broome has spent the past seven days at the Pitt County Detention Centre and will face court on July 11 charged with attempting to abduct the teenager.
