GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB RoundUp @ Tech-Hounds
Posted by Regeneration on May 24th, 2007, 12:13 PM

The GeForce 8800GTS 320 MB is also in a great position when considering there is no immediate threat to it from AMD. Although the Radeon HD X2900 XT is out, the card is targeted to compete with the GeForce 8800GTS 640 MB version, and priced as such with an MSRP of US$ 400. From our experience, the GeForce 8800GTS 320 MB offer about the same performance as the 640 MB version, except in high resolutions and in certain games where memory capacity is extremely important.

We all know the 8800GTS320 is a very good card, at a very competitive price, this article only confirms what I already known - R600 was too little too late

But why would anyone want the extra hassle of SLI, with only a negitable improvement in performance in supported games, and no DX10, for slightly more cost than a single 8800GTS320?

Really, I think you need to think this idea through

no lol
i will not upgrade to vista
so i dont need a dx10 card
and a dx10 is only upgraded version of dx9.x
there is not much changes in it and most of game creators still dont wonth to build games for dx10 and vista because vista sux
maybe will upgrade to vista next year or will wait for 2009 for new os

p.s.all dx10 cards that have camed are alpha version cards and dx10 is still beta it needs too much upgrades and rest of that shit
this is my point of view

Are you still using Win 95? Eventually the transition to Vista will happen, but of course it will take time. But the real point is a single 8800GTS320 is a better and cheaper purchase than 2 last gen GPU's. The performance of the card considering the price is very, very good.

But, as you say you will upgrade eventually. The push for me is when certain games I what to play are either DX10 only, or DX10 improves them significantly enough that I desire the eye candy, until that point like yourself I'll stick to XP.
