Its for Shivering Isles only. And it is nice, nothing more IMO.

I recommend against installing the beta patch. The last time there was a beta patch (1.1), you were unable to patch from 1.1 beta to 1.1 final. You'd have to reinstall the game.

There's actually a warning about this again. It doesn't say you WILL have to reinstall, but that you MAY have to reinstall when the final patch is released.

I had ONE problem after applying this beta patch: I could no longer move my character. He would dance in place, leap straight up when jumping, but there was no movement in any direction.

I tried saving the game, exiting, restarting the game and that didn't fix it.

I finally REBOOTED the computer and THAT fixed it. Weird!

This is an addon for Oblivion. You do have to have Oblivion installed in order to play Shivering Isles. I think that was the point of your question.
