NGO Drivers and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Issues Clarification
Posted by Regeneration on March 26th, 2007, 05:29 AM

Due to the increasing amount of emails, we want to clear up a bit of confusion about some of these stability issues with the game ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl’. The source of all these issues is not overheating, our drivers, hardware issues or anything else. The problem lays inside the game’s dynamic lighting renderer (DX9), and the only known workaround is to use Static lighting renderer (DX8) instead. You can stop emailing us now. However, You should contact the game developers instead, and ask them to patch their broken game; and if you can do us a favor, please ask them to fix their Widescreen/OpenAL/Surround implementation as well. Благодарим Вы.

I had the problems in some locations (normally the same). I simply reinstall ATI default drivers. I lost fps but its the only game that I'm playing so I prefer to play it.

Ah! ATM they are working on a Vista patch. But I think that they must work on a everyone patch fixing some lights problems.

Но она очень хорошая игра

This isn't the first time we have found software and not hardware or drivers have actually caused issues for members. As Rege says please contact the manufacturer if no one speaks up it won't get resolved

STALKER is a good game, but all the bugs that it incorporates ruins the picture. This is a game that should have been built by id Software or Crytek. To me the only good game that THQ designed was Red Faction.
