Default mobo help plz

I am buying a new computer soon, and I have a couple of questions:
1) What things are important that a mobo will have? (speed, slots, etc.)
2) What are the recommended mobos for AMD, and what are the recommended mobos for Intel?

Well first you need to find out if you want AMD or Intel cpu
and your needs. it would make a recommedation much easyer.

Or would you answer, 'Never have I heard anything more divine?"

Well, needs are heavy computer games (namely FEAR and such).
I'm pretty sure I'll go for Intel but I'm not sure yet :S

well... first that nothing. what use are you going to give the PC, to play or to work?
Between AMD and Intel, i prefer Amd, because is cheaper and has a really good perfomance.

yes, this is the new technology on grapichs.. it's a little better than agp, but with future revisions, it'll be the fastest slot

So what would be your recommendation for a mobo for AMD (and what for Intel) that contains that slot (as well as all other important slots, speed, etc.)
