Fantastic advice Fscussel. You bump a 6-week old thread to reply to a bloke wanting an Intel motherboard without SLI to advise he get an AMD motherboard with SLI because it's a good price Please lay off those drugs next time.

Extortion considering you asked this question in late October you probably already have something by now. If so please ignore all the following. But just in case you haven't here is my ten cents worth

If you buy an Intel CPU then you should go for a board with an Intel chipset. I have always used Asus motherboards so would suggest something like a P5WD2 if you can afford it, or a P5GD1 if you want a cheaper board that uses DDR RAM (not DDR2).

I have also heard good things about DFI, but unfortunately they don't offer a board using the 955X chipset. The closest they come is the LANPARTY 925X-T2 which uses the 925X chipset.

Lastly of course you could go with an Intel motherboard. While Intel boards mightn't be quite as quick or overclock as well as Asus or DFI boards, they are rock solid and in my opinion would be the most stable platform you can get. In this case you might like something like an Intel D955XBK.

So after all that please tell us what you ended up getting
