CPU: Q6600
GPU: 4870 1gb GDDR5
M/B: ASUS P5N-D SLi
RAM: 8GB Corsair CL4-800
PSU: be Quiet! 850W
Default DFi or ASUS

ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, X58 (triple PC3-10667U DDR3) (90-MIB7U0-G0EAY00Z)
vs
DFI LANparty DK X58-T3eH6, X58 (triple PC3-10667U DDR3)

i was reading up and down, benchmarks say asus is a bit faster,
but the pci slot of asus is bullshit, as two are available and one is already blocked by GPU (even if only one gpu inside)

dfi does not block one of the pci with one graphics card... (or which of the three is primary PCIe?)

any other recommendations on 1366 mainboards (with 6x DDR3 )?
note that i do not want to pay more than 250 euro for the mainboard...

i can get anything from this list:

Honestly, from what I'm reading about ASUS on other forums, I plan to avoid them. I do have one ASUS board here that's been running for about a year and a half. That's what running my 2nd PC on XP Pro. But, I had another ASUS board that waa fraught with problems from the gitgo. Bad RAM controller on 2 slots. Ray Adams had the exact same board with the exact same problem. I ended up with 4 sticks of RAM getting destroyed before discovering the cause.

I've now had 2 MSI boards and have been really pleased with them in a general way. But, on my next upgrade I will likely check out the Gigabyte options. I"m reading lots of praise for these boards from varioug gamers/overclockers all around the 'net. But, if I can't swing a good deal on one, I'll likely go MSI again. They do provide updates on their website. No real complaints here for MSI.

i never had problems with asus, got a msi once with busted usb controller (does not mean msi is bad at all, its just back in my head )
so i guess i'm going for the asus once again, instead of the dfi (when its time to move along )

thanks guys

I have an asus p5q. It's a great board, but it had some sata driver and networking issues out of the box. It has been running smoothly for over a year. I might consider something else for the next upgrade, but it'll be hard to leave what I am comfortable with now.

Both DFI and Asus were solid as a rock when I had them for the P4 generation. The Asus had a bad power supply that burnt it's power socket black and it still OC'ed my 2.4 Ghz P4 to 3.2 and ran perfectly. The DFI was a solid performer and I never had any issues. Looks like you're choosing between layout and a small performance gain. Because I like both vendors I'd go for the layout preference which is likely to inconvenience you more than the small performance gain. However, if you know exactly what you're going to put in and where and you will almost never tinker with your setup again, go Asus.

I would stay a way from Asus I have had 2 Of there M/b die on me. Plus there Tech support sucks very bad evey time I called them they always said its a grounding problem no matter what the problem is and they would not help me at all in tell I took the M/b out and putt on a Phone book had to do that 3 times even though I told Him it didn't help last time. . Plus they Lie about there warranty. They say its a 3 year but its really just the shelf life Of the M/B found this out the hard way even tho I still had 1 year left. They also had the nerve After telling me about the shef life that they could not work on the M/b anyway because they didn't have the tools anymore. Plus My 2 Asus M/B were very bad about overvolting and undervolting underload. The volting caused my P4 3.2 northwood to get Sudden Northwood Death Syndrom.
