Default MotherBoard issue

ok, i have a pretty old motherboard, i dont even have the book for it, but i just found this old stuff in my basement, but i put it all together and the computer boots up fine, i go into the BIOS to program the hard drive and all that w/e but after like 5 or 10 seconds in the BIOS, it just freezes and i have to reboot agian. does this every single time.

so i heard that it could be the stand outs on the bottom, i dont have enough and the board is touching the case or w/e, but i personally think that the board or something is just fried, and i would not be very upset/surprised if it was. But if you have a idea or w/e i would love to hear it.

Perhaps you could start by telling us what you have actually got connected to the motherboard or w/e, so that we can make some educated suggestions or w/e to try to help you.

At this point, all we do know for sure is that you have the motherboard installed in a case with the PSU and, apparently a monitor or w/e.

Have you tried removing the motherboard from the case and placing it on a non-conductive surface to make sure it's not the standouts or w/e?

Anyway, w/e we can come up with, we need more information than what's been provided.

Can be an peripheral issue... eg ... sound card ... others... it happened to me long time ago.. you can try to put the bios settings to Optimised defaults... just in case or flash the bios for an newer bios (if not alredy done)

Try to boot your computer with only the minimal amount of components installed (ex.: only one stick of RAM, no hard drive, no sound card, and if you have an IGP, use that instead of your GPU card) than see if you are getting the same problem.
