#1 | | Professional Member | Suggestions for a new Mainboard? | | Hi guys, i currently own a Asus P5W DH Deluxe, and i am pretty happy with it.
anyway, i want to get another one now.
i will have MAX 2 Graphic cards inside
will fit 2x2048MB ram onto it (PC2 6400) dual channel
i have no clue about chipsets. but the board has to support RAID (so that i can use my "old" harddisk striped raid!)
i would prefer a board that is "cheaper" as i do not need the gimmics like 2x gbit lan and wlan...
one gbit lan is fine! i also have a soundcard so onboard sound is not needed or can be crap.
so please tell me your suggestions
NOTE:
ill put a Q6600, NVidia Graphics adapter, PC2 6400, X-Fi on it! |

| Be more specific. Do you or do you not want the board to have SLI support?

#3 | | Professional Member | i want it to have SLI support, but ill not have SLi from beginning
with sli i mean TWO cards not the "new" tripple-sli (which is nonsense in my opinion)
further i do not need/want ddr3-slots, as its not worth the money
it would be awesome to have a page, where you can klick-add features you need for hardware and the page lists whats available
i saw this feature on leisurepro.com for dive computers - thats awesome! you get all models that fit your needs
edit i had a look at: ASUS P5KC, P35 (dual PC2-6400U DDR2/dual PC3-8500U DDR3) (90-MBB660-G0EAY00Z) for about 105 euro ASUS P5E, X38 (dual PC2-6400U DDR2) (90-MBB7X0-G0EAY00Z) for about 170 euro
or a really cheap board for 60-80 euro...
ill mount water cooling on the cpu... but i have good airflow for passive cooling on mainboard.

#4 | | Loyal DAAMIT User | IF you are absolutely looking for SLI support, there is the ASUS P5N-D, P5N-E-SLi, and P5N-T Deluxe, (the last one being the latest). There are a lot of models available, so choosing will be a problem.

#5 | | Professional Member | ok, yesterday night i was searching features etc again...
this morning i read your post...
have to choose between those two boards now (hopefully i do the right choice!) ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus, nForce 650i/570i SLI (dual PC2-6400U DDR2) (90-MBB5I5-G0EAY00T) for 144 EURO ASUS P5N-D, nForce 750i SLI (dual PC2-6400U DDR2) (90-MIB3B0-G0EAY00Z) for 122 EURO
i'm not sure which to choose as the first one has excellent reviews but elder chipset...
i am pretty sure i will not need triple sli |

i doubt that ill upgrade the cpu (i upgraded to q6600 NOW)
