Would you mind to post more information??? Like what error it shows in the POST screen (POST = Power On Self Test - the screen where it shows the diagnostic of the current events). Make sure you're not booting your PC with attached massive USB storages (it sometimes hang because the Motherboard is trying to find something in them.). Did you reset your BIOS after flashing the newest?

Well thanks for that info i do have a usb card reader pluged in all the time ,my power backup ,and one printer ,I tryed out a tv card with a remote and when booting the boot screen would hang and if i remember right it said (i took card back) configuring usb devises .And when i would unplug remote it would boot right up .By the way i never got an answer on the Asus Forum .

I would also like to know if a Sound Blaster X-fi Extremegamer would be a good upgrade and if it would work well in vista .Tryed that on Creative Labs Forum .

Sorry I can't help you with the sound card, but I can tell you that you can disable the auto-detection of USB storages in BIOS and your problem with your card reader will be gone. I'm not sure but I think there is a Legacy USB option in your BIOS (most of the motherboards have), disable it to see if it helps.
