I think your going to be waiting longer than you think and even if these are released bug free who is going to be able to afford it. The new 45nM Intel quad are selling for over 1,000 dollars what do you think AMD is going want for a B3 stepping Phenom ?

Your going to be looking at the last quarter of this year or first of 2009 for either of these platforms to fall under the 500 dollar range.

This is something i have definately considered, however, I have recently realised that by the time the phenoms with worthy performance vs price are released that can even remotely hold a performance candle to the intel quad chips i will already have several grandchildren..

I would rather invest a reasonable sum (probably around £250 by the time i decide to ahead with it) and get the high level of performance vs price satisfaction that is (a)guaranteed - (b) owed to me by AMD (and c) is going to provide me with an enormous sense of wellbeing knowing that i finally got my kicks from "the dark side"..

...the point is ultimately after investing considerable "resources" in AMD in all honesty I can't help but feel a little bit let down by my present Athlon X2 cpu - something i'm certainly never prepared to risk happening again....ever
