dont know will it work from amd to intel but you need to uninstall all drivers before that
well you can try that or to borrow someones disk (empty ) so you can save data on it |

this is probably the easiest way for someone inexperienced like me...
-whoaa Gen that mobo looks really cool maybe i will get it instead actually ( i like 3 pci express!) but this is still not going to happen yet maybe even until Q3/Q4 2008..

puttung a new mobo in place is really simple as the others said. after you've removed the old one.. put the cpu with its cooler (the thermal paste is already aplied on it) on the new one and after that its time to put it where it belongs  than the power connectors and all that stuff and it should be fine.
The Q6600 is a really nice choice and as far as i know same for the asus striker
