start with bare minimum for the board to boot, remove fdd, hdd, optical drive and any other add-on boards but the video card: if no boot or sound is played, start removing main components: first remove memory, then the video card
if still no sound is played, the board may be faulty or ... in some situations, the CPU | No more to add hope you get it sorted

edit: alot of the times i encountred problem with this board it's was memory problems ... try first to put 1 memory stick and see what happens... and check on qvl if the memory is supported(asus is really difficult on the memory support)

it is nothing strange for asus mbos
try to change that mbo for other model

If you want a really reliable board, get something with an AMD chipset, they are alot better the Nvidia's.

Asus EN 8600 GT Silent
Kingston DDR2 Value RAm 677 mhz
550W PSU 50 Euro (new) ^^
i think its the ram cause the cpu looks good and the board , too |
