if still no sound is played, the board may be faulty or ... in some situations, the CPU
No more to add hope you get it sorted

Hello alex ... i was an owner of an m2n-e ... and if you can say your configuration it's will maybe help me ... i encountred alot of problem with this board and i fixed somes ... say your config and maybe i will be able to help you and i dont think is because of the cpu it's really rare an cpu is doaà

edit: alot of the times i encountred problem with this board it's was memory problems ... try first to put 1 memory stick and see what happens... and check on qvl if the memory is supported(asus is really difficult on the memory support)

The M2N-E had so many problems that they actually discontinued that model. i would suggest you either go with the M2N-E SLI that has less problems. If you want a really reliable board, get something with an AMD chipset, they are alot better the Nvidia's.

Also, can you please tell us what kind (brand) of memory you bought for that board?

Thanx.
