But it will be way less stable and reliable then the Gigabyte you already have. I would either stick to Gigabyte or go ASUS or MSI.

ECS is SHITE. (ECS stands for EconomicalComputerScraps)  . And the best chipset for intel crossfire is the 975X. because its PCI-E lanes are 8x-8x instead of 16x-4x, which you much better scalability and a more balanced multi-GPU system.
