Exclamation Help Installing NGO Creative driver for SBLive!

Rescently updated from XP to Vista Ultiumate on this Dell Dimension 2400, we have had to get new hardware to make this computer capable for vista to run. After all the hastle we've noticed we could not get the Dell OEM SB Live! card to work.

After days of searching we've come across thed NGO drivers, however after installing the 'Gamer' varient we've still had no luck on our sound.

'Programs and Features" detects the drivers being installed, and 'Device Manager' detects the PCI slot being used, as well as the fact there is a sound card installed,
(says "PCI Input Device" and "Multimedia Audio Controller")
but the drivers are not working with the card.

perhaps ive installed the drivers wrong, and assistance on getthing them to work would be apprecaited, its obvious these drivers work for many people.

I'm having the same problem that Thmanx is having. I have an ancient SB Live! 5.1 card that Vista fails to recognize, and no amount of drivers that I download seem to work. I've tried the NGO modded drivers, which seem to install a bunch of stuff and then do absolutely nothing, and then I go into Device Manager and manually point my "Multimedia Audio Controller" at the drivers, it lists "Creative EMU10K1 Audio Processor (WDM)" and then says "The system cannot find the file specified".

If it can't find the file, how the **** does it know what the driver is?

Any help would be appreciated. This is unbelievably frustrating - all I want is sound.

Is the drivers of ngohq (moddeddrivers for your sound card) are not compatible with vista you need to go on www.creative.com for download the good drivers compatible with vista.I think lol let's me see...
