Hi, i just installed WinVista Final-32bit. The default vista driver works for my Creative Live Value sound card. However it does not pick up my Altec Lansing 4 speakers + subwoofer system, it only detects as stereo 2 speakers!! I have tried using NGOCMD but still only detects 2 speakers. Will reinstall back WinXP if no further solution, pls help?

Thats odd and sorry not that familiar with Vista here ....

In XP that option is in Control Panel / Sounds and Audio Devices / Speaker Settings / Advanced .... nothing similar in Vista ?

Live will be not supported in Vista - there is a chart about that on Creative Labs website. But for Audigy there is also funny thing - hardware sound is not supported for cards less than X-Fi...So this is a final thing - I won't use Vista.

I am experiencing the same problem as Warboy with Vista final. The bass and treble sliders are unmovable, but clicking them seems to set the bass and treble to max, and the only way to reset it is to uninstall/reinstall the drivers.

The funny thing is, the first time I installed Vista on this machine, Windows Update picked up my SBLive! Value and used it's own driver. The second time however, it did not.

The NGO driver would be perfect, if it just weren't for this annoying problem.

Can anyone offer any advice please?

hello everyone.
i installed vista over the weekend and i have a creative sound blaster live 5.1 card.
and i cannot install any drivers for my card just like these before me.
and i did find out vista installs a driver for the card.
but the driver installed is crappy the sound sounds muffled.
and if you tirn it up it crackles.
so i looked in the problems and errors folder.
and it showed that there is a prblem with card compatibility.
the older cards are not vista compatible.
so vista took me to a ms site showing me what is compatible.
and the cards that work in vista start at 90 dollars and go up.
other then having to buy a new sound card and the slow shut down.
i love vista so far.
i have these two problems.
i hope ngo can mod a driver for old cards so we don't have to spend all this money on a new one.
hope this helps everyone with the same problem i have.
