#1 | | Professional Member | | GPU: GeForce 6800 ultra (mod) | | So this is Xtmas... No it isnīt. One (of many) thing that bothers me in the computer life is sound issues. Iīm a gamer. And I wanna a better sound, but ... there are few $$$ in my budget . So, what more can I do with my hardware now (Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit External)? I have the newest CREATIVE drivers; sniffing ngohq, found Creative Modded Driver ( http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=F...veme&dwn_id=20), downloaded, installed. Saw (hear) no difference at all. Any suggestions?
Thx in advance.

Suppose you have a Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit External, got the newest drivers, and finally try Creative Modded Driver; suppose also you love to play computer games, but felt that ... you *should have a better result. You are:
(1) A dreamer. With this hardware, thatīs the only possible answer.
(2) An optimist. You know the true, but just figure that things could be better anyway.
(3) A real nerd, waisting yer time with this foolish question.

#3 | | Edelweiss Corporal | Well Amana , its like this
First i used onboard real AC`97 now i own SB Live Value , and the quality is muth better.
But this card are very old cards now. They just got the soundqualiyt thay have , no place for improvment here sadly. i tryed the modded SB drivers . but as im a gamer too i revert to the orginal onec . latests of course coz they most compatibile and they reale have not bad quality.
In some days gonna swith my SB live with HDA 7.1 card
I remember back in the ol` good days , when i was running 386 DX 25, 4 MB RAM , 120 MB HDD ( my first PC) IoI . i own SoundBlaster 2.0 a mono card , whith later i upgraded with stereo chip. That was times most users , played on PC speaker or some home made digital/analor gizmos , that we conncted to LPT1 ports. i Still have it somewher.
