Just a few days ago Arctic Cooling announced its new Accelero series
line of products to accompany the latest video card offerings from ATi
and NVIDIA. The new Accelero series will be available at the end of
February this year. The most exciting thing about the Accelero series
is the first time use of heat pipes for a VGA cooling solution. The
heat pipes technology is already in use with CPU coolers, so Arctic
Cooling took the next step of introducing it to the VGA segment of
cooling solutions. The Accelero series is available in two models: X1
for the NVIDIA GeForce 6800/7800 series, and X2 for the ATi RADEON
X1800/1900 series. Arctic Cooling is known for being the king of VGA
cooling over the past few years. Their products are known as being the
noise killers and best friends of the overclocking community. Another
thing that we all love about their products is their competitive prices
and unique product design. These unique qualities have brought a lot of
fame to the company. Even big manufacturers like ASUS and HIS have
chosen Arctic Cooling solutions for their products.
Today we are going to test the new Accelero X2 VGA Cooler from Arctic
Cooling. We will find out how the first GPU cooler with heat pipes
technology performs. As I previously mentioned this product is intended
for the new ATi RADEON X1800 series. In case you didn’t know, the
RADEON X1800’s stock heat sink/fan is quite loud, especially at
full speed or in use with Crossfire. It should be pretty interesting to
see a VGA cooling solution with six heat pipes at work. Wait -
there’s more! Not only does it have six heat pipes, but it also
has six years warranty which is a very nice move on Arctic
Cooling’s part. Features:
* Compatible with ATi RADEON X1800/X1900 series.
* Voltage converter cooling
* Patented vibration absorption
* 6 Heat pipes
* 6 Years warranty
* 60mm fan / 2000 RPM fan speed
Technical Specifications: Heat Sink: 152(L) x 90(W) x 30(H) mm
Fan: 141(L) x 120(W) x 28(H) mm
Fan Speed: 2000 RPM
Air Flow: 9.82 CFM / 16.7m 3/n

The package includes: One unit, eight thermal pads for the memory,
screws and plastic isolators. The Accelero X2 ships with a thermal
compound on it. The unit itself is pretty light (260g). From the package you
can see that the installation should be pretty easy, without any crazy
mounting gimmicks. You will learn all about this in the following
