Thats odd other AGP cards work in your machine so AGP is selected in BIOS. Odd your neighbour is having startup issues with that card too sounds like the card itself personally.

bOko do you have the lastest bios of your motherboard? Try flashing your motherboard with a newer bios.

yip they did all that when they were checking the MO.

they said they restarted it ..
uploaded the newst updates and still nothing ...

but what really confuses me is that it worked for 2 3 months with no problem
and then just one night i switched off everything and went to bed .. next morning i had a blank screen no beeps no squeeks just a quiet blank screen and then a nice flash NO SIGNAL on the monitor ... and thats it..

its probably the gfx card

i was just thinking .. about the memory ... its a 128 ..256bit what if some of that mem is burnd ? and on start ups what if windows uses a sector that is not being used other times ..
but when my neighbour plays games says theres absolutely no problem.. so more confusion !

See this is what I find odd why are ther probs at startup on your neighbours computer ? Then it runs clean .... This points too something on the card on both machines and its hardware.

bOko try this if you can ... try it on a third machine and see if there are boot issues .. then you know for sure

sounds like a power issue to me... especially since its a 400w psu,.. and he said it worked before.

this usually indicates that the psu has burnt into its max load, and now does not provide sufficient power to start the card.

if a 6800 isn't working... you'll have even worse luck with a 7600
