Am I doing something wrong or maybe something I am negleting to do? Spyware etc - I run Spybot & Adawre but the problem remains.
Sorry no screen shots - nothing really to take a shot of - I came to the pc which is in login screensaver mode - move the mouse the login area appears - enter my password & it looks like it (& sounds like its) going to boot to desktop but jumps back to the login area - I enter my password a second time & this time it boots to desktop ok?
I have tried several Cat drivers today - managed to get it to run Cat 6.5 without any login issues but anything higher/newer & the problem re-appears.
" Do you have your Screensaver set to use a password in order to exit back to the Desktop? I've instances like this previously when the Screensaver programs requires a password." Can you give me anymore info/help on the above comment - not sure about this bit?

About this: If you have your computer set to automatically go to a Screensaver after so many minutes, do you also have it set where you have to enter a password in order to quit the Screensaver and get back to the Desktop?
Here's what it seems to be doing from all I've read so far: It appears that you have the Desktop set up where you have to enter a Username and Password when Windows boots up in order to get to your selected User Account. That means you have to enter that password to get to the Desktop.
Then, if you have the Screensaver also set to require a password, you would have to enter that password to exit the Screensaver.
If 'BOTH' of these are requiring a password, then the scenario you describe makes a lot of sense.
In other words, when the computer goes to the Screensaver, your selected User Account may become inactive. So, when you decide to quit the Screensaver, you enter a password there. Then, when it's ready to go to the Desktop, it needs to know which user account to open. So, you need to enter a password there as well.
Now, none of this makes sense if your Screensaver and/or Desktop do NOT require a password.
Soooo.....give us a little more detail about just how you have the system setup for both the Desktop/User Account AND for the Screensaver.
