Default SLI Mode

I am running a 6800 and a 6800GS and have enabled SLI mode in bios. I was sure that I was running in SLI mode before I just upgraded drivers to 93.71 I believe it is. Now, when I run:
rundll32.exe nvcpl.dll,LaunchMultiGpuApplet
it informs me I need compatible cards to enable SLI mode. It says I must remove any cards that are not compatible with SLI???

Can anyone please help me? I thought these cards would (were) running in SLI mode. Perhaps it is some other settings I have that are stopping it to enable multi gpu??

i have never heard that two diferent cards can be seted in SLI
SLI works only on same cards

Dam, I was sure I ran in SLI before. I don't know what brand the 6800 card is, both are PCI-e, 256mb. The 6800GS is a XFX card. Rev 1.2 it states on the box.

Is there any way I can get the make/model of other card? There is really nothing on the pcb to indicate manufacture.

I wouldn't try this myself but maybe flashing them both with the same 6800GS bios?

u r going to short fuse ur graphics cards if u kepp them in, because the components do not identically match and will cause instability.

i'd be very careful before you flash any cards. remember you cant scale a card upwards if it aint a gs it aint gonna be, but downgrading the gs to match other card is more realistic
