directx lower for higher preformace?

i have recently found some threads that say that some video cards have much more fps with a lower directx version, what of this is true?

I dunno is that what you ask. But DX 8 is less demanding from GPU. DX9 uses shaders/effects. So its normal.

But i dont know is that what they write about give more info/link.

But most games need DX9 , so you wont run them without it.
