Default ATI Problem

Hi!

I have an “INF Error Video driver not found” and then it goes on to say “Setup was unable to complete the installation Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup” – I got this error after I uninstalled my graphics drivers via Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and then restarted my computer!

I have tried system restore but when I try to update drivers again it still happens! I have even tried to install it manually!

Another problem is that my standard VGA driver doesn’t automatically install no more, it says there is a problem with it!

My Specs:

ATI Radeon 9200

Intel Pentium 4 (2.6 Ghz)

512mb Ram

Thanks for any help,

Mike

Which drivers are you trying to install? The reason I ask is because ATI has stopped supporting the cards prior to the 9550 series as of the 6.7 drivers. So, if you're trying to install any recently released drivers, you're not going to be successful. Only cards that are completely DX 9 capable are now supported.

I have tried to install the 6.9's and then I tried to install some older ones that came with my computer, which are quite old! It's happening with both

It's from folding client or something for a US experiment - but has worked absolutely fine for me.

I suggest you do a Windows Repair installation. It sounds like your Windows Registry is corrupted.

A Repair installation will not remove the programs you have installed. However, you may want to back up data within the My Documents directory to be safe.
