Need help with drivers for CS

Can someone please tell me why i can play counter strike source and half life 2 but not half life or opposing force?..i think its a driver related issue. Im using the latest Omega modded drivers which i thought might be the problem but i tried using the latest official catalyst drivers (5.10) and they still wouldnt work. when loading my screen (flat monitor) goes black and a message says "input signal out of reach" or "too high" or somthing. Please help or tell me which correct drivers to use as its driving me crazy! thanks. (x800 pro 256)

Better try the GAME or Drivers section of forum mate . Dont think you find any help here.
I dont play CS or HL2/1 so cant help ya.

ehm, you using any refreshrate overrides? resolution to high? think thats it..
if your using refreshrate overrides (eg refreshforce) disable them and try again .
if you have disabled them and it still comes up with the error you could try setting your game resolution to 640 480 through the registry

strart>run>regedit followed by return
go to : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Half-Life\settings
double click screenheight and then check Decimal, enter the number 480 and press ok.
do the same for screenwidth only then enter 640 followed by ok.
close the regeditor and try to run your game again

on hl2 or counterstrike go to properties then go to set launch options.
use this parameter
-refresh 60
or a other Hz within your monitor properties 60 is save.

patch the game to the latest version as well
