55 °C is totaly o.k for your GPU ... they can take up to a 100 °C
but could it be that you are using intel stock cooling =?

Most Intel are certified up to / uhm thinking / something around 70 °C or so ...
60 is not critical but when summer comes the temp. goes up again.
Maybe a better cooler would help here ...

What is xpandrally? Is it game?
How can you see the temperature of CPU or GPU during playing the game? If you watch the temperature after leaving the game from WINDOWS using some programm like AIDA, it doesn't show you correct result because CPU and GPU have time to cool down while you leaving the game and then starting some programm.

erm.. get a new psu

when that message occurs its switching the card to low power mode which turns power to the fan off and drops the clockspeed

... just to make sure, you know you have to have a molex connector plugged into your card (I think that's the proper name), in addition to the PCIe/AGP slot's power, right?

You may have fitted the card into the slot correctly, but it still needs extra juice.

If you did actually plug everything in, get a nice Powersupply. And when buying one, don't get some cheap, piece of crap no-name brand. (Don't skimp out on the PSU)
