If this won't help, see if you can get it working with 185.68 drivers - you don't need PhysX mod there.
installing the older drivers worked for me, thank you

Do you mean 196.34 or 185.68?

I'm seriously amazed... seems like you are right! I just didn't test it yesterday because i saw a user report saying otherwise on another site, but now i've tested it by myself on Windows XP and Windows 7 x64 - it really works "out of the box" with 257.15.
In Windows XP i've just extended the fake desktop, and on Windows 7 i created one non-extended - that's all i needed to get GPU-PhysX working. And even more surprising - timebomb issue is gone too, at least for its normal time interval (~30 seconds in FluidMark).

I wonder if this is a feature or a bug in their new drivers... They didn't show any more of this "positive attitude" - their PhysX faq is still contains that qa regarding hybrid configs, and there is nothing in release notes about this...

It would be at least one respectable deed by nvidia, and my mod would be obsolete, which is great for everyone. So we better hope this is permanent!
I'll update the first post now.

Any other feedback regarding 257.15 (or later) would be appreciated.

Even if this is step towards the community, I don't think they will make it official.. just a feature for those who knows.
However, this may be a just oversight due to changes in driver structure.

Feel free to do it if you want, it's not necessary for me though.
Just remember that you don't need the mod, and you don't need to install PhysX SS 9.10.0222, as it's already included in 257.15.

Hi, Quick Question everybody I would like to know if installing the new ATI Catalyst 10.5 will affect the hybrid phsyix setup. I have the following setup a ATI 5870 with 10.4 installed and a 8800gts with nvidia drivers 197.45? Will I have to patch the machine again or will everything will work flawlesss. Thanks everybody for your help.

Shouldn't be any problems there. The mod only modifies nvidia driver files. Updating a driver for your primary non-nvidia GPU won't affect this.

Sorry didn't quite understand what did you mean here... I was talking about people with hybrid configs to report their experience with 257.15 drivers, perhaps someone will find out more of this.

BTW i've launched my Windows 7 again and found that GPU-PhysX is not working anymore if the fake monitor is not extended. Maybe it's because i disabled "nvsvc" before that, not sure. However, applying the mod for PhysX SS files only solved this problem, it's in fact the same thing that was previously released as "Extended display fix" by ContainForum for v9.10.0222.
So i guess, there are still cases where it may become the same for some people, and extending a fake display may be the last shift to fix problems with 257.15 for someone. Just saying.
