Default PhysX for ATI

i don't know if this has changed, but i heard awhile back that there was a way to more smoothly run physx games (i.e. Medal of Honor Airborne) using an ATI card. is this still the case? if so, how can i do that. if not, is there a work-around? Thanks.

MoH:A does not use GPU PhysX just regular one. So it works exactly the same on radeon and geforce.
Here is a list of GPU PhysX compatible games:

Only if you use a Nvidia card to handle PhysX while rendering on the ATI card. Nvidia blocked the ability to run PhysX on a Nvidia card when an ATI card is detected in the same system. GenL has a patch in another thread that you can use to unlock it again with the most recent drivers. So if you have an old Nvidia card laying around that is 8 series and above with 32 cores you can use that in your second PCI Express x16 slot for PhysX.

I hope that answers your question.

Can I add a refinement to this question. I have a 8800GT, overclocked, runs nicely, but I'd like better antialiasing etc, so would like a newer card.

At the moment, ATI cards load BFBC2 levels very slowly - so if I had an ATI and a Nvidia card could I choose one or another - or would my 8800 become physx only?
