I never get below 75fps with VSync On and SmoothFrameRate disabled in the config file no matter what appears on screen plus 8xFSAA and 16xAF at 1280x1024 (Native LCD res) |

1- Download the PhysX-mod-PPU-1.0-FOR-TESTING-ONLY.
2- Remove any PhysX drivers, PhysX Software and clean the registry and reboot.
3- Install the PhysX System Software version 8.09 which is the last version that comes with driver support for AGEIA PPU. Make sure the driver used for the AGEIA PPU is the 1.1.1.15 in the device manager.
4- Install the latest 9.04 PhysX Software System
5- Run the patch in Administrator mode and select "create a Backup option", if it ask you to browse for a file, the file is located in System32\SysWOW64 and its called PhysXDevice.dll. Patch it. (Windows 7 64-Bit vesion only)
6. Once you are done, check for a copy called PhysXDevice.bak, just to make sure that the file was patched, you can skip this one if you want it.
7- Open the PhysX Control Panel and enable AGEIA PPU acceleration and then run a game which uses hardware PhysX like Mirrors Edge, Cryostasis, Batman AA or Fluidmark.
Reply back to see if it worked. |
Sorry for being noob but I've done all the above in win7 home premium 64 bit and when I try to run the fluidphysx benchmark it doesn't run but give an error message "side by side configuration incorrect"
heres a shot of the event viewer relating to the error
Am I using the correct version of the benchmark ? can someone direct me to a 64 bit version if necessary ?

#633 | | Advanced Newbie | | CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 810 | | | PSU: Enermax MODU82+ 625W | | You need to install Visual C++ Runtime 2005 Runtime with SP1 - I believe it was that one.
However, if I remember correctly you need to install the 32Bit Version of it (can also be done on 64Bit OS) and not the 64Bit Version - or maybe both - to get FluidMark to work.
Look here for 32Bit version: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
and here for 64Bit version: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

They really should add this to the requirements in a .txt file or at least on their website. |

#637 | | Newbie | | CPU: Core 920 I7 @ Default | | I will test my Ageia PPU PCI-express 1x soon if i have my new 5850 graphics card..
And testing if my pci-express card also slow down. If the problem is on the pci bus then i suspect no problems at all. |

I have also the BFG PPU PCi laying here, but that card is more noisier
You don`t want to use that card, thats more like an plane noise.. Quote:

From the nvidia gpus i know that people know thats its working again with the patch what GenL have made possible.. Because it came in the news..
So if people being quiet then i see that the PPU card will life more longer..
Why i having an PPU? Because its the only solution if you want to have an power friendly consumption.. The card draws about 20 watts.. And gpus draws about 50 watt and more..
