Seems like my problems with my computer lately is only because of the video card..
So I was thinking,to upgrade only a video card here, tell me what you think..
Here are some specs about the machine:
Motherboard MSI Neo P965
Code 2 Duo E6400 @ 2.13 GHz
4x512 OCZ DDR2 667 MHz Ram
Sapphire X1950Pro 512 MB and its temperatures goes basically GPU 78 ENV 58 (from ATT>Overclocking section)
I think 500 PW PSU
SB Live! Value
Simple case half opened from one side to get some air there...

#2 | | Edelweiss Corporal | What cards on Your mind mate ?
Anyway , You can eazly pick cheap cards that will work great on your system both from Ati/nVidia and will shurly make muth difference with low cost.
Also some faster memorys wuld be nice. What is max You can put on that mobo.

I'd suggest either the HD 4850 or the HD 4770.

but seems like my pc will not handle it ...
and i think 800 mhz for ddr2 are max ...
well,i think i can replace 4x512 by 2x2gb @ 800 MHz ?..
But then,i'll need a video card that can give the max on that system ...

#6 | | Advanced Newbie | | RAM: G.Skill 2x2Go PC8500 | | 4890 is a good choice. buy at least a 4xxx serie.
but if you upgrade your graphic card, and the memory, i think the 500W power supply will be light !
for example: MSI P43 NEO-F, E6550, 3870 512mo, 4x1Go, 80Go, 500W not an antec or enermax and not a no name neither the name don't ring a bell. it's true power and it wasn't cheap when i buy it.
anyway. the computer boot, i can install vista, but when the OS reboot the last time just before the first opening => poff it's shut down... same problem with XP but when i install the graphic driver.
and even if the 3870 use more power than a 4870, the point is that 500w isn't enough. |

Then how much power does 4890 need?
I cant find it anywhere on the web...
It also seems like Sapphire's card got higher Chipset Speed - 950MHz,and Asus's only 900MHz
....

Here's a decent rundown on good aftermarket coolers for overclocking... http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling...pu-cooler.html
