As for the cooler: Are we still referring to the CPU cooler? If so, I'm way happy with the ZeroTherm I'm using in my main rig ... the one I posted a photo of. It comes with a controller you can place outside the PC case to manually control speed if you want. Otherwise, it can be controlled by the motherboard's sensor.
If you're looking for a video card after market cooler, Artic Cooler or Zalman are highly recommended. I'm just not sure about any yet made for the 4890. Others here may know.

The selected RAM is an excellent choice in my book. I would voltage it somewhere between 1.8 ~ 2.1. That will depend on just how well the mobo sets it up automatically. I'd actually just install it, boot up the PC and see if it boots. See how well it functions and, if there are no problems, AND you're happy with performance, just leave it alone. Tweaking can come later. |
Well i dont think so Dyre , bios will probable set higher latencys and lower voltages , to get the 4-4-4-12 , Kirill You probable gonna have to set the 2.1 V and timings manualy.
This is what i needed to do with my Geils Ultra on my IP35-E (even the instalation quide say to set it manualy in most cases) .

My concern, and Kirill's, is that the system boots properly with the chosen RAM set he wants. AFTER it boots and performs properly, THEN he can bother with the tweaking. That is, adjusting the settings per specs and, perhaps, even some overclocking.
It wasn't my intent to say that he should NEVER bother with any of the settings.

#34 | | Edelweiss Corporal | I re-readed Your post clear , i just dont see any point in buyng super duper memorys and "See how well it functions and, if there are no problems, AND you're happy with performance, just leave it alone"
You culd then get cheap kingstones IoI
What my point is that the 800 rams are too slow for that CPU and it wuld be poitles to buy if you wont use it to the max. And since he is limited to 800......
I NEVER lave anything wint my PC done automaticly , what ever i can i set manualy.
Maybe this is why i cant see Your point Dyre
Or see it this way:
A guy upgrade memorys and GPU. He install it , boot the puter with no probs , So he starts testing , running games and stuff . Since the gpu is muth better , the performance is better . Hes happy lave everything as it is.
Then one time , next year he go into bios and see that hes super duper pricles ram wer running all the time 75 % becos bios set them 667 with timing from space.
Similar case was my friend who put his first puter from parts and laver everything fale/safe in bios.

P.s. I still need to choose cpu cooler for E6400 to overclock....
Help? http://www.ksp.co.il/main.php?now_snif=kspbiyalik

Well, maybe someone can tell me how much RPM (or I need to check by anything else?) cooler I need to get to make normal boost with overclocking?

#37 | | Golden Member | | CPU: Intel®Core™Quad Q9650 | | | GPU: Sapphire HD4890 VaporX | | Well,here is an update..
I was thinking to spent a bit more budged and leave that pc as it is at the side.
Here is the new list of the parts, that I also need help to choose between:
Case:Thermaltake Strike MX VI6001BNS
PSU: Thermaltake PurePower W0121 600W
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9400, 1333MHz, s775, 6MB
MB: P5QC s775 C2Q 1600Mhz, Intel P45, 4xDDR2, 2xDDR3, PCI-E 2.0
Video card: HD 4890 1GB GDDR5 DX10.1 HDTV 2xDVI PCI-E
Now,the problem is choosing memory,I'm going for 2x2gb.
