Which software are you using? I tried the ATI video encoder bundled with CCC, and it promptly crashes on Vista 32 bit. I installed the new Cyberlink Mediashow Espresso, but it apparently needs a hotfix from ATI. Decided to wait and see what Cat 9.6 brings.
To mkey:
I was thinking about something more like this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ce%209500%20GT |

#12 | | Member | Well this topic is not to cause any arguments. I just asked "how is the project going on" and I also know how to get PhysX by nVidia. This isn't about to buy an nVidia video card to gain it. This is a success made by people to show other that "PhysX can work on ATI" and also I want to see what PhysX brings or not.
So I'm not requesting dual video card recommendation like ATI+nVidia. I just ask for information. Just to know will there be any PhysX on ATI solution. That's all my friends...
Thanks for everything... |

Many reference design 4870 and 4890 boards with the 3 Phase VRM on the gpu have a crash flaw when the GPU is put under full load :P |

Windows 7 now allows GPU's from both ATI and Nvidia to run at the same time like XP thanks to WDDM 1.1. I'm doing on the machine I'm using right now. Physix is nice eye candy but really not needed at this point, especially with DX11 right around the corner. |

#17 | | Newbie | | RAM: 4GB (2X2GB) DDR2 667 | | I think what it comes down to is that Reg has better things to do with his time, if partially because Nvidia's mentioned that they might make an OpenCL port of PhysX, which would render this entire point moot (with the exception of the 10 people who will want the enhanced performance of a "native" Stream port)

And no, it's not viable for me to order in hardware from newegg because after customs and taxes I would end up paying more hen the above mentioned $500. I would be left without any warranty, as well.
