Question Is crysis created for nvidia?

Ati video cards play the first Crysis game horribly compared to Nvidia video cards. My friends laptop has 1.83ghz core 2 duo 3gz memory 667mhz and an nvidia 8800M gts video card, and can play crysis on medium settings w/o aa, as well as my desktop at high settings. On the other hand crysis warhead plays on enthusiast and 4x aa with little to no choppyness and my friends laptop can play crysis warhead on minimum settings and 2x aa to get the same performance when playing. I am not sure why? It must br that crysis is made for the architecture of the nvidia video cards, but not the ati video cards.

They were both tested on 1440x900 and the bus speed of both processors are 800 mhz

Crysis has always been optimized for Nvidia and Intel hardware.

you cant compare original Crysis performance to that of Warhead anyway as Warhead has been heavily optimised over the original. I have no doubt that both games were optimised for Nvidia users, however i rememeber a while back when there was much discussion about the original Crysis, many ATI users had very good performance with the game (mainly with radeon 3650/3870 if i remember correctly) - better than Nvidia users in many cases - though i'm sure that this was mainly driver orientated in that Nvidia drivers at the time were frankly rubbish...though perhaps the higher core clocks of the ATI users benefitted them a lot...

you didn't mention your os. i suppose it's vista like everybody else is using now but i will probably never try dx10 because i will never use vista...
the "enthusiast" level of detail settings in warhead are equivalent to the "very high" settings in crysis.
iow all the formerly dx10 only fancy stuff is also available for dx9 in warhead. for me crysis plays faster on highest detail than warhead on highest detail, i have to turn down a few settings in warhead to make it playable at 1600x1200.

these games really require no less than a 4850 ati to play higher than 1280x1024... i had a 3870 and it did not suffice, the 4850 has a good bit more muscle than 3870...

as for laptops, in general it seems hit or miss as to whether or not you get a good game on a lappy, they are never as fast as their pc counterparts regardless of brand names...

and yes, nvidia are notorious for being cheaters...

Yes they are both windows vista home premium and ran with dx10. My friends laptop was a 32-bit system and my desktop is a 64-bit system.
