Default ATI Physx vaporizes??

Hi all,

I'll be honest with my unsalted opinion and don't give a crap what anyone has to say about it:
- The fact that there's NO news after half a year of development is pretty sad
- The fact that this stuff made it on THIS list is even worse

Regen
Regardless of so-called legal crap you should have just opened up and cleared out the fog that is hanging around. And personally I'd rather test buggy crap than not test anything at all.
As for the silence:
A simple note once a week or month giving "some" insight on project status would be rewarded with things like: "Keep up the good work" and "Hope it all goes well"
Instead you now get flame wars all over the friggin place (especcially here) over how anyone thinks on the subject.
Like you were going to be able to avoid questions like "When will it be ready?"

After reading the article on Wikipedia and reading nearly all posts on the subject on this site, I have come to the conclusion that this is not really worth waiting for.
And if you really have had so much legal shit going on, you should have taken the right choice and release the whole damned thing...
THEN and ONLY THEN would you have a large community of ATI lovers who would have jumped you out of jail without a moments thought...
Including me...

As it now stands, I wish you much luck in the continuation of the development...
And whenever it gets released, it's probably old news and too late...

Do you really think Nvidia care about what you and ATI fans think? Nvidia does not care about its public image.

I do not want to be forced to close our website because of legal issues, and we would like to provide perfect final product without causing any problems. The fog above this specific project is because companies like Nvidia are monitoring this site and its forums on daily basis. Take in mind that Nvidia could "block" our software – so do not expect us to provide public betas and whitepapers.

In addition to these legal issues, both Nvidia and AMD have betrayed us. Yes! Even your beloved AMD has done anything it could to block its development during the last six months. They refused to give us access to SDKS and documentation, we had hard time adding support for new features. All the development was made by “guessing” and “exploring”, which caused many problems such as bugs and performance issues.

I understand your frustration, but you have to understand that things are not always going as planned (e.g. Duke Nukem Forever). Again, the project is still under development as we are adding support for X86 processors. Another thing I can tell is… since Palit was the only manufacturer to support our efforts and us; we are considering giving them temporary exclusivity as a reward.

A news update will be available somewhere soon.

P.S.
Wikipedia is a joke.

Balls of steel... Balls of steel...
Edit: I just noticed WC3 and Diablo2 were on the wikipedia list of surfaced vaporware. WTH? Just because they took a bit of extra time polishing the release up? Wikipedia sucks indeed but it rules at the same time (in a complicated way).

This exactly what I thought. You have now proved what I thought (and probably many others) right.
And that was all most people asked for... being updated on what is going on... Even the smallest detail once a while would keep most people (including me) very quiet and we'd all sit very patiently...

My personal frustation came from the fact that you hardly said anything about it at all. The "ATI lovers" like myself have been waiting for this quite some time as our NVidia colleagues are having all the fun (are they?)...

But, I shall wait patiently on the news update... and will keep returning to the forums to have a good laugh over all the flaming.

Thanks so much for the headsup. It eased my mind knowing that one day we too shall enjoy higher framerates than ever imagined possible

PS.. I agree.. Wikipedia sucks... but... they currently hold the list there... and I truthfully hope that ngohq will disappear from the list soon!! And DNF too of course LOL

If there is someting that I can do I want to help (I don't know how but I will give a try on like trying to get documentations or anyting like that). I really thank you working on this project and informing us what's going on. It's hard and takes time but I believe it's never late to do something...

That's exactly what I thought too. But I admire you for such a good initiative and efforts. Continue your amazing work. Courage ! If I'd be enought skilled, I would have help you.

Thank you for the update. News, good or bad, are always welcome. I will be patient. I suddenly gave up my idea to buy a PPU ^^.

I told you. No need for flaming.

P.S : Wikipedia is not really reliable, everybody have to know that.

P.S 2 : I understand Nvidia 's position, but not AMD's. By acting like this, they lose customers... Unless it's Intel's pressures over AMD or the fact that AMD wants to bury PhysX.

I.E. Hacking.

Problem is "Hydra" will make this project moot. Not to mention Larrabee should be able to run anything (emulating notwithstanding).

Hack away brother.

Truthfully if I was AMD I would want to hurt Intel a hell of a lot more than I would want to hurt Nvidia. Nvidia is hurting themselves with crappy hardware and bad chips. And they are no where as big as Intel. I would assume that ATI cards probably run PhysX a lot better than Nvidia's because of the extra stream processors those cards have.

Chances are they signed a wonderful contract with Intel not promote PhysX if they jump in with Havok. If they did their stupid for helping their biggest competition get bigger.
