Default ATI - Flip Queue size

Hey there guys, many of you may or may not know what im going to ask.

for the ATI - Flip Queue size (for Nvidia its named pre-rendered frames)

I downloaded from guru3d (ATItraytools)

Ive heard that setting it up higher will cause mouse and keyboard lag (this is not true for me)

But my question is really, what does the undefined option mean?

will it make the amount of pre-rendered frames flip out and jump from 1 to 20?

and part 2 is is it better to just leave it at 5 or 0?

I ran a video stress test in CS:S and my average went down a couple of frames when i set it to 5 (it was original at 0)

and while I was typing this I came up with a 3rd question :P

Do you think that this feature only helps out in games your pc has trouble running?

(im going to run crysis and see is the setting helps out at all)

"Ive heard that setting it up higher will cause mouse and keyboard lag"

Well it is true that it will cause more lag between you and the game.

Basically if you are running 30 fps and you prerender 3 frames, it means that what you are seeing is basically 0.1 secs behind where the game actually is. So when you see something you need to respond to you are already 0.1 secs behind the computer, plus your normal reaction time. So if you prerendered 6 frames you would then be 0.2 secs behind the computer and so on, so the more frames you prerender the further behind the game you become. The amount of time varies with your actual FPS. e.g. if you were running 60 FPS, 3 frames would only be 0.05 of a second. Which is why you don't notice any lag. But if you were running 10 fps, and 5 prerendered frames you would be a whole half a second behind the computers actual position.

It wont dramatically change fps, i believe it just helps smooth the frame delivery so there are less stutters.
