#1 | | Member | HD Video on ATI Hello my friends. I have a HD 3850 PCI-e x16 graphic card. It supports HD video playback. But I don't know how. Which program I should use to play HD video without using CPU? |

#2 | | Site Staff | Should be automatic, but you can make sure by snooping around your media player/decoder settings. |

#4 | | Member | I tried a video clip (which is 1920*1080) but it uses CPU, not GPU. I think this means it's not automatic...
I'll try VLC Player tomorrow. But what about PowerDVD? Does it use GPU? |

Using Zoom Player
when i play a HD video i get 20% cpu usage on a dual core
and in CCC it shows only 3% gpu usage when running the video
Using VLC
I get 22% cpu usage
and 0% gpu usage

#6 | | Site Staff | PowerDVD supports GPU decoding but make sure to set it up inside the options. |
