Default 7600 GS shared video ram

hi guys,
this time i'm calling from work

i have a computer here with 4gb ram, which is mostly used for VMWare.
today i noticed that only 3,2gb are available for windows.
(no, i am not running a 32bit system)

i have vista ultimate 64 bit installed here too.
i think that my graphics card allocates the 800mb of ram, cause its only 256mb onboard (so over all 1gb with ram from mainboard.)

i guess, as always, there is a way to disable this ram grabbing?!
i do NEVER need the graphics card to use that much memory, as i am not gaming nor use any 3d programs here...

would be awesome if someone knows how to disable the ram eater! did not found anything in NV-Panel yet.

TIA

Also, if it's an AGP card, set the AGP aperture size to the lowest.

Shared System Memory: This usually makes up the bulk of system memory available to the GPU and is allocated on demand when needed. Shared system memory is really just regular application VAD which are probe and locked and made visible to the GPU. video memory will only allow up to N bytes to be pinned down simultaneously where N is: ((Total System Memory – 512)/2 – Dedicated System Memory)

You can not set/change this not even in your bios and people have not found a way to disable it as of yet

Here is my system I have 2 gigs of ram
Dedicated video memory 512 MB
Shared system memory 767 MB
Total Available Graphics Memory 1271 MB
