Default Anyone tried the Windows 7 drivers?

Supposedly ATI has released Windows 7 drivers and I assume somebody out there must have an early release...

Any word on it?

Also I thought they were keeping the driver model the same. Does this mean new drivers for Windows 7 hardware?

Here ya go, Windows 7 preview driver. No idea how it is different from the Vista drivers since they should have the same infrastructure ?

And both directly from AMD/ATi !

Ok, so besides the minor differences in the interface, will there be other differences? I didn't really have time to thoroughly read the article... did I miss something?

Vista and Windows 7 is the same Kernel , the big hic in that is Windows 7 is just an BIG marketing trick for users buy Windows 7 in hope that it will be better than Vista. The drivers are suposed to be the same (or aprox). But they will release W7 drivers only.

The only bad thing about W7 is that the 16 bits programs will not be supported

Well, W7 has support for more than one WDDM driver (where Vista supoprts only one device).
But I doubt that this feature will require new drivers...

Who gives a flying fuck about 16-bit programs? Even C&C 1 is in 32-bit. Vista64 had a lot of trouble with 16-bit programs as well... at least in my case.

Some companies still have 16 bits programs and they won't change because it could cost millions just to re-write an 32 bits or an 64 bits program...
