Default New Graphic Cards release

Hi guys!

fact is, that i sold my old graphics card to buy a new one, now, as the shop canceled my order (and does not provide another card for the same price) i am "lost"
i could buy the same card i had before but this would make me loose about 70 euro!

currently (a friend borrowed me) his "old" 9500 GT (1024MB) this card does what i need (not really good, but i can view my desktop @2560x1600 and play my games at reduced settings)

so, anyone of you got an idea, IF and WHEN the next wave of new graphic processors will be released (i do not follow the news all the time)

as i do not want to buy a card with less performance than the last i had... (8800GT -> same performance as 9800GT) i am looking forward for either 280GTX (360€) or a 4870(1024MB) (260€)
but prices are still too high (for me right now)
[i ordered a 4870 (1024) for 170 euro but the shop cancelled and removed the card from his list]

thanks in advance
lumo
PS: i do not need the hint to buy a 4850 or a 9800 gx2 - only need the info IFF there will be new hardware in "near" future (near means this year - guess NV will release a shrink 280gtx in 55nm)

What's wrong with you 8800GT? I mean I know it's Nvidia but, bey, it should still do the job...

@IModIntel i already sold it (the 8800gt)! thats the problem.
@gen.Rage1991hrv the problem is that i only get it for 270 (for the 1024mb) at other shops, which is out of my budget (the 512 is still 250 euro - not worth saving 20 euro, if you ask me)

Geforce 9500?! It is a crap! Usually 9500, especially 1GB versions are with gddr2. Yes, these versions are cheap but are are much more weak than every each 8800gt. 9600 is much better than 9500gt but it is still much slower version of geforce 8800gt.

Spec, he obviously didn't get a 9500GT as a replacement for his 8800GT, it's just holding his rig together until he gets the 4870. By the way lumo, what resolution do you game at?

you are totally right!

usually i play at 2560x1600, but thats rarely possible with the 9500gt
only battlefield 2 can handle it at that res with fps over 30, but i did not test much more

I'm surprised that the 9500GT can actually produce playable framerates for BF2 at that resolution even with reduced settings!

x800 does not even support 2560x1600! this card ends at 1280x800 (16:10)
had this card for exchange too, but did not get the resolution -> better the 9500 :P
