#1 | | Member | | GPU: ATI HD2400 512MB - AGP | | About the Catalyst 8.9 Beta Hey guys. I was "attempting" to install the 8.9 beta but the installer seems to not think I have any hardware on my PC that this driver can use.
My PC specs:
*********************************************
OS: Windows XP Home Edition, 32-bit, Service Pack 3
CPU: Single core AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 2.2 Ghz
Video: ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro AGP, 512MB DDR2 Memory
RAM: 1GB Kingston Dual channel Memory
*********************************************
I also tried to go to the device manager and to update driver on video card but the file is still not seen as something I can select for the video card. Maybe I'm doing something wrong and not knowing it, but other than that I think the driver is not compatible with this card.
Any help would be nice. |

#4 | | Site Staff | For some reasons, AMD removed support for AGP products. You will have to wait for the Catalyst 8.9 AGP Hotfix. |

#6 | | Site Staff | We need to ask AMD what's going on with this issue. They are releasing AGP hotfixes for too long, it should be fixed. |

Nvidia cards use about 60-80 more OGL extensions and with me stuck with this ATI card for a while, it's causing me problems with some games/emulators.
If I could get just one solid driver version with all the OGL extensions needed to run the games/emulators I play, I can just stick with one driver and not update anymore. As it is now, I'm hoping to see more extensions in new drivers versions so I have to update.
