To know more about AA (CSAA,MSAA,CFAA,TRAA,SSAA)

check this link... here they have clearly explained what AA is all about..

Nvidia 8x is = to ATI 4xAA
Nvidia 8xQ is = to ATI 8xAA...........

More details in this page...

If you want to use Nvidia 8x setting in crysis.. turn OFF AA in crysis.

Go to ATI control center

Select Level as 4x and Filter as Wide-tent(x8)

Click apply and then click ok.. ..

This will override crysis setting and you will see a 4850 getting better FPS than

XXX8800GT 512 Alfa dog or 9800GTX..

Dont forget to turn oFF CCC A.I

well im pretty sure paying $500 for a radeon 9800 pro wasnt overpriced.

it really depends on who the top dog is that sets the pricing. if ati was top dog right now, im pretty sure everyone would be saying "I like nvidia because they dont overprice their cards."

I did the mod of the FSAAprofiles and such but it seems like the controls are sticky now. Like sometimes when you go to zoom in it doesnt respond and I end up having to press certain keys numerous times to get the reaction. Its weird though cause im getting alot better FPS now. wierd

No ... There only 3-5 % of the source code of the CryEngine who is used in Far Cry 2.After 4 days of play with Far Cry 2 1680x1050 i say it's not necessary to put AA.
