#21 | | Advanced Newbie | I seem to waste more of my own time than everyone else combined. I choose the time I waste, no one else. I am anxious to whoop up on some nvfanboy benches. I enjoy the challenges. Wait for it, wait for it. |

THE PROBLEM, IS NOT PATIENCE. It is being TOLD, check back in a few hours, a day, a week, then even several days later, several weeks later, several months later, having NO UPDATE, NO NEWS, nothing.
I am not the one CLAIMING that I WILL give an update at a set time. THEN NOT DELIVERING.
So fan bois, stop bitching.
I wont even use Physx on my system. dont play any games that support it, dont intend on playing any of the upcoming games, nor do i wish to give some fps for some better flesh or debris. However I can imagine there are a lot of people atm wondering "should I go for a Nvidia GTX260, 9800, 280 for Physx, or should I go for a 4800 solution, with DX10.1 and 'posible physx support through this solution'", I can imagine a few of them seeing Rege saying announcement in the morning, thinking well lets hold off and see how this works before deciding.
If he just GAVE 1 REASONABLE estimate of delivery/news/update. That would be fine. But saying "hold yer horses, just wait several hours, and you will see", then nothing for weeks....wtf.
I wouldnt be bothered in the slightest, infact I would be OVER THE MOON, if he said, "turns out this just has to be a private project due to legal reasons, there will be no public release of this mod at present and for the forseable future".
I am not desperately after this. But as someone interested in technology/news, I have watched this since it was originally boasted on these forums. And i find the way this has been handled appauling. It is not hard to say "no updates this week", "expect an update at the end of the month", "still sorting some legal stuff out, it is working atm, but cant release it yet".....but no...lets just waste a lot of peoples time. | ok, so you just don't get it. and evidently you're not about to.
in that case, why don't you do us all a favor and waste your time elsewhere? |

#23 | | Site Staff | DOOMJESUS, he is entitled to his opinion, harsh as it may seem. I can understand his frustration since Rege had promised an update that has not appeared. I know it is still being worked on but as for the level of completion I have no idea. Keep in mind he is one body working on something that AMD has not produced with their entire team, so lets hang in and see what come out of it. |

I'm not particularly interested in it, myself. But, as it created a lot of 'hits' to the site, I've thought there should be more information provided on an 'ongoing basis' since the initial announcement. http://www.ngohq.com/news/14219-phys...hd-3850-a.html
I wonder just how much nVidia has tried to discourage the development?

I understand your frustration but I’m doing my best and if I can’t follow the schedule that means something OR someone caused it. I will post everything, even by small details as soon as I could. Until then, you can help me by being patience. |

I.e. if you say "update on the 30th", if it turns out you cant achieve that, you should just post a new date on the 30th, "update on the 4th", and always be lenient on dates. As "Scotty" from Startrek says, if it is a 24hour job dont tell them it will take 24hours, tell them it will take 48 hours, that way you become a miracle worker, if you deliver on 24hours. |

Good luck mate and welcome to your new homepage here | I am actually a Software Engineer with a 1/1 degree with Honours. So don't push it. As I said, I have no interest in using Physx.
What you do not grasp is this isn't about speed of delivery. This is about promising an update tomorrow, then no word for weeks...that is what is wrong. If the update isnt available for tomorrow, you should still pop in a word and put in your new estimate. Now please grasp this stuff or ask your teacher for help. |
