Default Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS 512 PCI question

Hey Im kinda on the new side to Nvidia because of my previous ownership of an ati Radeon 9200. Im having a problem with getting full performance from it. Any Direct X applicants are running terrible frame rates. and I have the constant issue of the onboard Graphics Cutting in on me. It thinks im trying to run Dual monitor. So when I disable the attatchment and disable the onboard, when i go to restart, the first thing that happens is the Bios is still showing up. ON the Onboard. Another thing the system goes back to attempting to use Dual monitor with just One Device. (instead of 2 being the Geforce and the Onboard Graphics) When i disable the onboard in the Bios. The system refuses to boot up. and The Geforce doesnt Show anything as well. With my Old radeon all I did was just place it in the computer. And install it. (after disabling the onboard of course) And with the radeon I could disable the on board in bios with out trouble... I'm really stumped and If anyone can help That would be great.
Here's what I have.

System Manufacturer: K8M890
System Model: AWRDACPI
BIOS: Pheonix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG
Operating system: Windows Build 2600 SP2
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz
Memory: 1014MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
Display Memory: 512.0 MB
Monitor: Hp Pavilion mx70 (Now that I think about it. This could be the issue. Can some one confirm this?)

Do you know the actual motherboard manufacturer model? The system manufacturer you have listed is the chipset ID which is VIA.

When you disable the onboard video are you also selecting a boot order (eg. PCI-PCIE-IGP). Some motherboards I've seen such as the ECS 741GX everything is automatic and the bios doesn’t offer manually disabling the onboard graphics, when it detects a card it auto disables, with my own motherboard I have to disable the 6100 IGP in the bios and change boot order. Did you completely erase your previous card drivers before installing the new drivers? Under "Manage 3D settings" in the nvidia control panel you can manually select "Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration" type. Usually you should be able to completely disable the IGP when a new card is installed either through the bios/automatic/or setting jumpers.

All this shouldn’t matter though since you didn’t have any issues disabling the IGP with the previous card installed. It could be a inherent chipset issue with the 8400 or a bios programming problem, one option is updating the motherboard bios if one is available.

My motherboard manufacture model is the K8T890M-V/K8M890M-V.
I'll get to seeing if there is any Updates for BIOS.

I think what I meant was there was an option in Bios called Onboard VGA share memory or something like that. I go to disable it and the system does not boot to windows. (like i said before I could disable this option with the radeon.)

And also to add yes I did erase the old card drivers.
I'm really hoping it's not an issue with the card. I've
been having terrible hardware luck. I'll look into it more.
