#11 | | Newbie | Yep. Rebooted after each change. I've tested the system in about 30 different configurations... and the BIOS menu is extremely limitted. There are hardly any menu items regarding AGP. The only one is Init Display: PCI/AGP. |

The only one is Init Display: PCI/AGP. | If the Motherboard you're using is the one listed in your profile at the left, then you need to do a better job of reading your manual. I took the time to download the manual for the GA 7N400 Pro2 Rev2 and there certainly IS an option to set AGP 4X in the BIOS.
I'm uploading two images taken directly from the downloaded manual for this motherboard. If the motherboard is NOT the one listed in your profile, then I do apologize but that's all I have to go by at this time.
Notice in the first image under FLEXIBLE AGP 8X that the Default setting is [AUTO]. You have to scroll down to highlight this setting and then press the ENTER key on your keyboard to access the options. Once you access the options, you can then set it to 4X to override the 8X Default setting.
If you do not have the manual for your motherboard, you can download it from the Gigabyte website in the language of your choice. It's only 9 mb.

#13 | | Newbie | My motherboard is the one mentioned. My BIOS version is FK. I don't have that menu option. My BIOS screen is also white on blue, not black on white. |

#16 | | Newbie | | CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ | | | GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD3850 | | So I've paused the Cool and quiet feature for a while (still, RivaTunr was on at 80% fan speed) and after three minutes of Team Fortress II, I've got a BSOD regarding atikvmag.dll.
So I've uninstalled Rivatuner (set the gpu fan speed to normal), rebooted and after three minutes in Team fortress 2 I've got a 0x7E error in ati2duag.dll.
So I re-enabled Cool and quiet again and this time, after 6 minutes or so, I've got a BSOD regarding 0xFC "An attempt was made to write to read only memory".
It's a shame that it didnt create 64K minidumps as I accidentaly switched the setting to "Dump kernel memory".
What the fuck is wrong with my system?! Any suggestions are welcome!
BTW this happens only when gaming. It doesnt BSOD when surfing the internet, watching videos etc.
//EDIT: ATI released new catalysts again. This time, I'll try following combinations:
1. Cool and quiet OFF, RivaTuner fan speed 80p OFF
2. Cool and quiet ON, RivaTuner fan speed 80p OFF
3. Cool and quiet OFF, RivaTuner fan speed 80p ON
4. Cool and quiet ON, RivaTuner fan speed 80p ON
I will post the first BSOD minidump on every circumstance in these points.

#17 | | Newbie | Yea, 8.8 was released on Friday. It didn't do me any good though. I suspect your problem is the same as mine...
Every single test I've done comes up clean too. |

#20 | | Newbie | | CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ | | | GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD3850 | | I suspect that my machine is overheating. When I rebooted and did show the BIOS hardware monitor, it did show 70°C (at idle), which I think is too much. |
