We can't be sure for now, we will have to wait to the final reviews.

Anyone know when they are going to release......

or r they in trouble... hmm..........

it wont have to beat 9800GX2..

All we need is a card that can play crysis ultra high with 16Q AF and AA.. @ 1400x----...

and should be good to play... race driver GRID... at max detail............

i don't think these "benchmarks" can be trusted at this point.
where are these people gettting their hands on a card that only just went into production?
ati say they will launch in june so we will just have to wait but i expect it's going to be the first generation of cards to play a good game of crysis at 1600.

the 3870 will play everything but crysis at 1600 or better.
in most games, at 1600 and above i just don't see much visual improvement with aa involved but at any resolution, it's almost never worth the performance hit.

although i must say i am very surprised at the aa implementation in the game R6V2, somehow they did it without causing much of a performance hit at all, it's the first game on the UR3 engine that i use aa with...

If this card using GDDR5 memory, I wonder how much the price we will pay for this card....

it should have the same power of a 3870x2 but the problem with DDR4 was latency.... but the DDR5 technology is based on XDDR and will be good and compare to ddr4's 12GB/s... DDR5 can do 20GB... so its going to have... power of 3870 in CF + 30% more power = 130%

And Dx10.1... the best thing Microsoft ever did.. lol

So.. crysis.. max setting.. 1600x-- gives 19 FPS on 3870

3870 = 19

2--- 3870= 19+19+130%= more than 45 FPS....... so it can be true.... lol

GDDR5 wont be much advantage! So if GDDR5 beats 9800GX2 then GDDR3 will also!
GPU's dont need GDDR4 or 5. Because new memories give much worse CL's and they cant provide enough MHz older memories will be as fast as new ones + much cheaper(look how much DDR3 cost when they showed on marked) and easier to cool. GDDR4 and GDDR5 are only marketing toys!! Best proof I campared lately 3870 GDDR3 vs GDDR4 and guess what... 80-100 pontis in 3Dmark06 and NO PERFORMANCE BOOST IN GAMES!!

I really can't complain about the 169 $CAD paid for my HD3850 card

by now i can play all games at 2560x1600, and i see no need for 16x AA yet (but i wear goggles- if i put em off i have 8xAA for free )
