8800 GT performed better than HD 3870. If you really want a better FPS, 8800 GT is recommended for you.

8800GT 512MB is better than 3870. Dont go for 256MB because it sucks:P

Do u mean that NV gives better FPS and ATI gives quality......... ?
Coz even i felt that.... as it says in this link
http://www.mundodvd.com/showthread.php?t=41429...

Can i use bios hack to oevrclock and beat a 8800GT with HD3870... coz the stock 3870 runs at 775/2250MHz 39%.. and can clock till... 990/2310

here is a gpuz after a lite clocking

the stock spec is

Core Clock :775 MHzShader Clock:775 MHz
Memory Clock :1125 MHz (2250 DDR)
Memory Bandwidth :72 GB/sec
FLOPS :248000 GFLOPS
Pixel Fill Rate :12400 MPixels/sec
Texture Fill Rate :12400 MTexels/sec

and if i overclock it to 990/2360, it will give

Core Clock :990 MHzShader Clock:990 MHz
Memory Clock :1180 MHz (2360 DDR)
Memory Bandwidth :75.5 GB/sec
FLOPS :316800 GFLOPS
Pixel Fill Rate :15840 MPixels/sec
Texture Fill Rate :15840 MTexels/sec

this is the bios hack to unlock the clk-speed... coz the bug stops overclocking over
http://www.armada.fi/HD3870/HD3870_PLLVCO_v010.071.zip

So now... what do u think... and tell me whic one is better... pls i am confused

If both are within your price range go for the 8800GT. Decisions don't get any easier than this.
