one thing is clear.... u know nothing about hardware.... u r just a blind gamer....

I red about dx 10.1 about month ago and i dont believe another Micrsoft and specialy Ati CRAP...saw these movies and DX10.1 is just some new efects, better AA(which you cant use anyway cause 3870 is to slow!!) and marketing tech tricks but no peformance increase!! I work for polish harware magazine!? but youre right youre better caouse you red some crapy-ati commercial articles...

BLIND GAMER?? ANd whoot Youre gonna use DX 10.1 in movie watching or listening winamp?? n1 m8!!

Do a comparison with 3870 vs 8800GT with assassins creed on a vista system with sp1 or on a windows 2008 server which comes with SP1 and then talk about it,, k

... u will see the difference

I wasnt respnding You Unixlord :-) I can see You also have GF8800 but some people just try to force us to believe that some crapy commercial toys like DX10.1 are gonna make 3870 better... Im too long in this biz to believe that :-) Anyway I posted some results from SC on DX 10 for GF and 10.1 for 3870so wheres the big perf boost? the lost to GF cards is even worse than on DX9... But saikamaldoss will provide some other 1000 theories... ONCE AGAIN DX10.1 will change texturing method and antyliasing but that wont do any big change in performance! so before You people start shouting about ATI glory pls make sure They dont dissapoint You...As always. DX 10.1 will probably replace old DX10 but i think that theres no sense buying any card right now just because it has 10.1. Why? ITs just like some people bought FX5200 because it had DX9... 1st 2 years past before DX9 came to gameplay, 2ND cards with good DX9 support came a lot later. So if You want DX10.1 to be realy working fast wait few months or ever a year or so for some better cards. I have 8800GT and if I feel lack of power ill get another one to SLI ;-)
And I bought card 2 months ago i could choose another ATI(after 6 in a row) 3870 was even cheaper than my actual GPU. 3870 is quite good card but ITS NOT better than 8800GT and we have to face it.

The only thing that will make ATi and AMD survive are smart people like saikamaldoss who buy from the underdog even if its a little less performing. OK, so go on, continue buying your supid little Intel and nvidia harware so when AMD goes bankrupt, you're probably the first one who's gonna cry because of the monopoly that Intel and Nvidia will have and you'll have to go out and cry to your parents because you can't afford upgrades anymore.

Ati or Amd doesnt pay me to work for them... I buy whats better. Its simple : just make better hardware!! I will buy their products then!! 4 months ago I had AMD 6000+ and HD2900XT its only their fault i made a 180 degrees turn...Dont even start Amd vs Intel... Theres no competition

Someone needs to "neutralize" hector before anything positive can happen.

hey man, if fanbois could get their minds around this concept, then they probably wouldn't be fanbois...
but the sad truth is, pandering is the only way to get through to them...

wrong, this is not a football game and amd IS intel/nvidia's only competition! and as IModIntel said, the nv/intel fanboys are the ones who will be crying the loudest if AMD goes under. anybody who thinks that intel and ngreedia wouldn't tighten their grips on the nuts of the consumer, simply doesn't understand the concept of competition in business...

with that said, i have two visiontek 3870's on my network atm and i am very pleased with each of them. the 3870 is a cool running, very fast card that renders beautifully and it's a hundred bucks cheaper now than when i purchased mine.

also the latest drivers seem to be a big improvement in AA performance. with AA on max in R6V2 at 1600, i can see no jaggies and astonishingly, no performance hit, i don't know how they did that but i'm digging it...

I dont care about Amd Intel or Nvidia I pay money, and I want some results!! I ment that Amd cant even compete with new Intel CPU's(had 6000+ with 3GHz now E8400 with also 3GHZ and the performance boost is huge!! this is 1st INtel i have, always had lot of love fo AthlonXP ;-( ). Im not saying 3870 is a crap all i was saying that it isnt as good as 8800GT. And right now the situation on the market is more complicated than You Ati's fanboys think... Dont You see that Nvidia stayed all alone? Even Intel mobos have ONLY Crossfire(Amd!!!) not SLI???? Theres no war Intel vs Amd like You would expect it...As for Nvidia vs Ati/Amd well theese are GPU's and mostly performance count and untill Ati wont make better(or cheaper) cards than Nvidia, GF will be winning, and I wont simply help them and spent money on poor products( when GF FX5xxx came i screamed that Nvidia sucks and i bought R9800PRO so im someone is fanboy is surely not Me...)

I buy ati and will continue to do so, the battle goes back and forth and always has, the only thing that remains constant is that nvidia is still a shit company that cheats and bully's people around.

Besides, crossfire owns sli, which is utterly useless and in many cases youll get better perormence out of one nvidia card vs two nvidia cards, and need i mention the pathetic nvidia chipsets, and the fact that all their cards lately are just clocked up 8000 series with nothing new

anyways i go for the better company and that remains ati/amd, nvidia will never see a penny from me, they dont deserve it.
