DX10 looks Grate. And if your going to compare 60fps of ATI, to 65fps of Nvidia, over image quality in something like BIOSHOCK or CRYSIS, Then that's a choice only you can make.

look at the link i placed in previous post... 8800GT beats 3870 in almost every game( exept world in conflict). DX10 makes games look less realistic(maybe we should blame people who make games...) + it "eats" too much fps...

hehehe , the only difference i ever noticed was way back , when NFSU2 hit shops .
On MY Radeon 9600GT ultra , ther was fee effect missing (like neon under the car , the gloow was still ther , but no noen ) compared to the nV 6600 GT i got later.

If i remeber good even NGO maked a flash quality comprasion back then , but i dont know for shure.

but all this games that they do benchmark with... they are all made to use nvdia cards better.. the developement team works close with the game developers... but COJ call of jerazz was a game which didnt get any support.. and in that game.. 3870 wins with a huge margin... coz.. it was just made to be played... no matter what u have.... []

and i also see some people saying... no quality difference... ok 3870 supports 24XAA and NV only 16Q.. play crysis with 24X and see the difference.... u will see a big change.....

and the benchmark... is always done with 163 or 169 driver for nvdia... which has got problems with textures... the texture wil have dead spot.. which will increse ur frame rate...

My friend karthik.. got a XFX8800GT Alfa dog and it can only do 9FPS at 16X @1440x900... and ATI 3870 is givin.. 13-14FSP with 24X the driver he uses is 174.74 forceware... what can u say about that....?

I am not a fanboy of any... now i owne a 7600GT and i love it... but when i saw some games on my friends X1900.. the quality was good and the game was Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas ..

i just want to double check before i buy and i am doing reserch for past 23days and when i started.. my idea was to go for 800GT and now after this may days i feel like going for 3870... i am going to buy the card on 30th of this month... so i need some good info about both cards... no fanboy thing here pls... lets realy do some reserch.... k

Yeah but when Youll buy 3870 and have poor fps will You care who helped to make the game? Its just like that nvidia is better in most games and thats only what counts! PS You wont be able to play Crysis at 24X even with 5x3870 so just forget it... I have 174.74 drivers and.. i got more fps in almost every game + see no dead textures...8800GT is just better than 3870 if it wasnt i would simply buy Ati card when I was making my decision...

NO OFFENCE , but buahahahahahah 24XAA in Crysis , nice joke , i dont think this game wuld even boot with that setting

And as some one say what the point of having better card "made to be played" , that in games performs worst.

I think you shuld go with the 8800 , cos from what i read , even my 9600 GT can beat 3870 with AA and AF on.

PS. I was able to OC my 9600 GT from 650/1625/900 (core/shader/mem) to 761/1902/1100 with stock cooling , temps at full load 60-+ , with fan not hiting more that 70%. Whit given very big boost in performance.

Talking

as far as i know 9600GT & 8800GT are much better with AA...just check benchmarks i placed earlier...

LOL no mather AA on or off... And with 24x AA Youll watch slideshow...
Another thing DRIVERS...You just ask people who makes them better ATI or NV :-D Ati makes 1 per month with only bug fixes but no performance improvements...
