Which mobile card? 2600HD / 8600GT?

Many people have asked this with mixed answers but I need to get to the bottom of this question and find out the truth once and for all because I am really thinking about buying a mid-range laptop very soon with either one of these cards...

...which really is the better mobile gaming card - the standard mobility radeon 2600HD with hypermemory (NOT XT version as this is almost impossible to find in most mid-range laptops) or the Nvidia 8600M GT ?? (we already know the GS isn't great, and the 8400M is even worse)

- 2600HD Vs 8600GT ? -

(both running with core 2 duo 7250 + 2048mb ram + 200gb hdd + Vista premium)

The 8600GT. Although (/sarcasm) a 8400GS will beat it hands down.

really, is it that much better? to have 8600GT instead adds almost £100 to the cost of the laptop..is the performance difference worth paying that much extra cash?...

How much better is it? can you give me an % estimate... I actually had my eye on a Toshiba laptop with a 2600HD because it looks much cooler case + lights etc and also because it is much cheaper....hmm...

P.S - I hope you're joking? I heard the 8400 GS was very crappy card..
