Default How to activate SLI

Dear Comunity

I try much but I can't understand why I can't activate SLI for my two Geforce 8800 GTX Cards.

Both Cards are pluged in and running. Also I connect it with the SLI-Bridge. But nothing will be work.

I try it under XP Pro and Vista SP1 (Ulimate) and the newest Driver from Nvidia but the System don't regonize a SLI and I don't have an entry in the Control-Panel from nvidia called SLI or something lese.

Its possible to activate SLI and when how ? :-(

Thanks in advanced.

Greetings
Chris

Try ngo drivers:

Is this your mobo?

If yes so it supports only crossfire, and probably it can have problems with sli.

Unfortunately that motherboard will only allow for 2 ATI/AMD cards to work together. If you want to use an Intel based board it will require an Nvidia chipset like the 680i or 780i to use two Nvidia graphics cards

Nvidia’s SLI technology is based on software. Theoretically, you just need two PEG slots. However, Nvidia’s software is blocking SLI on Non-nForce chipsets. Nvidia is using SLI to promote their nForce chipset series. So basically, these are your options:

1. Buy some nForce-based motherboard.
2. Find some cracked ForceWare driver online.
3. Crack ForceWare yourself.
4. Don’t use SLI.
5. Fill an antitrust lawsuit against Nvidia.
6. Keep current motherboard and go with CrossFire.

Why they do that? Simply because Nvidia wants to be the Microsoft of hardware. Nvidia is making millions on our rights as consumers by using dirty tricks. I think DOJ and EC should fine Nvidia for this lameness. I hope someone will do something against these monopolist bastards. However, it may take years since the government in the US is horrible and they allow evil corporations to depress consumers (DMCA for example). Anyways, there is an alternative (AMD), but freedom has its price.
